Goodbye February

This past month has been full of nothing but goodbyes. At the beginning of February I took a trip down to Salt Lake to spend a couple days with my brother and my parents. My brother, Austin, is serving a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Phoenix, Arizona. I couldn’t be happier for him! The moment I said goodbye to him for 2 years was bittersweet, but I know he is where he needs to be.

This past week I had to say goodbye to Justin for 8 months. It was definitely the hardest goodbye we’ve had yet. Our whole relationship has been long distance, but the longest we have ever been apart was 3 months. And over these next 8 months I won’t have the leisure of picking up the phone and calling him if I want because he will be serving our country overseas in Afghanistan.

We took a trip to Jackson Hole and to the Teton Mountains.

I know life is full of these hard times, and I face these moments with optimism. I’ve known that the sooner I say goodbye the sooner I can say hello again.
