Pink, Love, and Marriage

Happy February everyone!!! This is my absolute favorite month! For many reasons:

*I’m a huge fan of Valentine’s Day! I love the candy, I love LOVE, and it’s just a happy day.

*I’m in love with the color pink, and this month just screams PINK!

*Justin is coming to visit me in 2 weeks! 2 WEEKS!!! And he’ll be here for 10 days!

*This time next year Justin and I will be getting married! Yup, we have an official date, and I can officially start my 1 year count down. FEBRUARY 7, 2014!!!

Speaking of our wedding…

Being a student here at BYU-Idaho when I tell people I am getting married NEXT February I get tons of weird looks and put downs. In the Mormon culture it’s normal for people to meet on a Friday and get married on Saturday. Maybe that’s a little extreme, but you get the picture. So when people ask when I’m getting married and I reply with, “next year,” they think I’m crazy.

Justin is in the Marines. He is getting deployed in March and will be gone for 7 months. I graduate in December, and we’ll be married in February. Now, this is not my ‘ideal’ situation. No one wants to wait that long to get married! But, this is what we’ve been given. Even though it’s REALLY hard to be away from Justin all the time, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I like having this time to plan our wedding, and get to know each other in a different way.

Everyone’s relationships are different. We all experience different trials. How we react to these trials can either make them harder or easier.

Justin and I had opportunities to get married before he deploys, but we looked at the best option for US. There comes a time when you just have to ignore what everyone else thinks and just do what you want to do, and what the Lord wants you to do. Sometimes it’s hard, but it’s always worth it.

Alright, I'm off my soapbox now. Have a great weekend everyone! :)
