Sappy Happy

Hello bleeps (blog peeps)!

I can’t believe I’ve had this blog for a year. I have really enjoyed sharing my life experiences through blogging. Even if no one ever reads the little details of my life, I at least have great documentations of some of the most noteworthy experiences I’ve had over the past year. When I read through all my old posts I realize that my life is great. I have so much to be thankful for! I know that through the rest of this year, this Geek in the Pink is going to have so many more wonderful things to write about.

I thought the title was fitting ;)
This semester I have been too busy for my own good! I was not only taking 19 credits, but I was working for Color in Motion, Account Executive for Soapbox Creative Agency, Executive Board member of PRSSA, and working on campus as a TA. Thank goodness I only have a week and a half left of this semester! Then I get to soak up the beautiful Florida sunshine and become a beach bum. I can’t wait!

On a personal note, Justin deployed to Afghanistan on Easter Sunday. He will be gone for seven months. This experience has definitely been one of the most emotional experiences of my life! I struggle with the unknown, but I have faith everything is going to be ok. A lot of people have expressed their pity on me, but I’m not feeling sad. Just like any trial, this is a part of life. Well, at least for my life. I have so much to look forward to so I can’t be sad.

I’ve actually been quite spoiled since Justin left. I’ve been able to talk with him every day! Well, through Facebook messaging at least. Still, it’s better than nothing, and that’s how I few this whole thing. Life could be worse!

I’m lucky to have incredible friends here in Idaho who help me forget my trials, and show me that life is meant to be lived and enjoyed.

Easter Sunday was spent enjoying the nice weather and being thankful for all that I have. What I thought was going to be a glum some day turned out to be a happy day thanks to my great friends. We had a great. I know for a fact that God puts certain people in your life to help you through the hard times. He knows what you need. Just trust.

I'm learning that when you keep an eternal perspective in life, life doesn't seem so bad.

Hopefully the next time I blog I’ll be much tanner than I am now because I’m going to Florida in a week! I’ll update you on what it’s like to be a beach bum for a week. Until then...
